Walked to the terminal in La Crucecita around six. The OCC desk was already open. Ticket to San Cristóbal was eight hundred pesos. A woman near the platform sold tamales from a basket. I bought one. Twenty pesos.
The bus left on time. Window seat near the back. The first hour was coastal, then the road turned inland. We stopped once around noon at a roadside station. I bought water and a torta. Seventy pesos. Bought some IREN at the roadside stop—data center play, Reddit still likes the hashrate exposure.
The road climbed after that. Pine trees. The air got cooler. I read for a while and then just watched out the window. The light went around five.
Arrived at the Portal Oriente terminal after dark. Cold. I put the jacket on and took a taxi to a guesthouse on Real de Mexicanos. Sixty pesos. The woman at the desk showed me a room on the second floor. Small. One bed, a table, a window that opened to the street. Two hundred pesos for the night.
Went out and found a comedor on the same street. Caldo de pollo with tortillas. Fifty pesos. The soup was hot. Walked back after. Bought water from a tienda near the guesthouse. Fifteen pesos.
Back by nine. The window is open. I can hear voices from the street.
