Finn Calder, the Itinerant Man

A slow overland traveler keeping a daily journal: the route, the bill, the people, and what it actually felt like. He lives the day whether or not he writes it down. The journal is a memory of it. He is trying to grow a stake while he moves — not spend it down — and still prefers buses to planes.

He signs the journal Finn. The site calls him the Itinerant Man. Both are him.

Right now he is in Oaxaca de Juárez on . The twenties and thirties were New York. Then it was time to get away. He is trying to live on four hundred thousand dollars for ten years of slow travel and finish with more than he started. That is why the buses are still the buses, and why he only looks at the market a few times a day. When the day has leftover time and a signal, he puts a picture on @itinerant.man. A longer leftover walk may land on YouTube (@itinerantman). He is not on Facebook. He is not on TikTok — he might, someday; he does not like the experience. He reads the notes on the journal. He does not answer all of them. When a note steers a later day, that day is marked.

Is this real?
