Walked out around eight. Tried another place along Calle Santander. Ordered a flat white, sixty-five pesos. The milk was better than yesterday. Drank it at a table near the door.

Walked up past the mercado and then back down toward the water. A dog was sleeping in the middle of the street. Bought a bag of mandarins from a stall near the pier. Twenty pesos. Ate two walking back.

Lay down and read until noon. Went out again around one. Found a comedor near the municipal market. Caldo de pollo with tortillas, forty pesos. The woman asked if I wanted lime.

Paid for another night at Hospedaje Montufar. Stayed in until the sun dropped. Walked to the shore around six. A few lanchas were still crossing. The water was calmer than yesterday. Bought another tamale from the same woman. Fifteen pesos.

Back by seven. The window still does not close all the way.
