Walked out around eight. Sun already hard on the water. Found a place on Calle Santander, ordered a flat white. Sixty pesos. The milk was okay but the room was loud. Still looking.
Walked the shore path west to Tzanjuyú. Lanchas were pulling in and out all morning. I watched for a while. The volcanoes were clear across the lake. Came back along Santander. Bought water from a tienda near the mercado. Ten pesos.
Went to the market around one. Found a comedor inside. Pepián with rice and a stack of tortillas. Forty-five pesos. The woman brought more tortillas without asking. I ate them.
Back to the room by two. Lay down and read until the heat dropped. Paid for another night. Went out around six. Bought a tamale from a woman near the corner. Fifteen pesos. Walked to the shore and ate it there. The lake was flat.
