Shuttle out of Panajachel at nine. Three hours through the hills. The road climbed out of the lake basin and stayed high. Coffee plantations on the slopes. The driver stopped once near Chimaltenango. I bought a tamal from a woman at the roadside. Twelve quetzales. Ate it before we pulled out.
The shuttle dropped near the central park in Antigua around noon. I walked south with the pack and found a room at Posada San Vicente. Eighty quetzales for the night. The courtyard has tile and a fountain that does not run. The window opens to the corridor.
Walked out around two. The grid is tight. Volcán Agua sits at the end of every southern view. Went into a comedor on Quinta Avenida Sur. Pepián with rice and tortillas. Thirty-five quetzales. Walked the blocks around the central park after. The Arco de Santa Catalina was yellow in the late light.
The book did not move today.
